Attorney General To Fight Connecticut Water Company Rate Increase Request

"My office will fight this rate increase, seeking deep reductions. I will ask the DPUC to slash unnecessary charges, including the company's huge proposed return on investment -- more than 11 percent. Such a request is unconscionable while consumers struggle with unemployment, stalled wages and economic uncertainty. Any increase must directly benefit ratepayers, not provide prodigious profits to shareholders."
