  • National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS), Fire Data Reports and Incident Counts

    The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) is responsible for maintaining Connecticut's statistics for the U.S. Fire Administration’s (USFA) database for the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS). The NFIRS data provides fire information at the local, state and national levels, and assists fire service agencies and public officials in identifying fire-related problems and trends.

  • Connecticut Burn Injury Reporting

    The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) administers Connecticut burn injury reporting on behalf of the State Fire Marshal. C.G.S.19a-510a requires all attending physicians, administrators of Healthcare Institutions, their designee or any other Healthcare provider, to report specific treated burn injuries.

  • Connecticut State Pistol Permit

    To obtain a state pistol permit, citizens apply at their local police departments or the first selectman's office. SLFU is responsible for processing the 5 year permit after the 60 day permit is obtained.  Out of state residents must call 860-685-8494 to obtain an application packet.

    The Special Licensing and Firearms Unit (SLFU) is responsible for overseeing and regulating all retail and private firearm transactions and transfers  taking place within the state. The SLFU runs criminal background checks and maintains machine gun and assault weapon registries.

  • Sex Offender Registry

    The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (DESPP) keeps an updated searchable record of sex offenders. Information provided includes the offenders last known address and physical descriptors as well as location, date, and details of the offense. The DESPP has not considered or assessed the specific risk of re-offense with regard to any individual prior to his or her inclusion within this Registry, and has made no determination that any individual included in the Registry is currently dangerous.

    The mission of the Board of Pardons and Paroles is to facilitate the successful reintegration of suitable offenders into the community. The vision is to reduce recidivism, invest in crime prevention, reduce victimization, create safer communities and measure each of these factors. Citizens can get meeting minutes, research and development program information and victim services information via the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles.

    The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program protects the health, safety, well-being and rights of individuals who reside in skilled nursing facilities, residential care homes and assisted living facilities.

  • Parole and Community Services

    The Division of Parole and Community Services is the consolidated community supervision and enforcement functions of the Department of Correction and the Board of Parole. The Division is based in field offices in Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury and New London. The officers assigned to this Division monitor the offenders in the community to ensure compliance with their conditions of release.

  • Fugitive Tip Line

    The Department of Correction (DOC) provides a 24 hour per day/7 days per week fugitive investigation tip line. The Parole Fugitive Investigations Unit is most interested in Parole absconders, transitional supervision escapees, and other cases deemed high profile.   • Inmate Accounts

    Anyone interested in sending money to an inmate can do so using the Inmate Trust Fund (ITF) through the Department of Correction (DOC). Funds are accepted through ITF by certified check, cashier's check, attorney check, employer check, refund check, social security check, tax refund, unemployment check or veteran's administration check via U.S. mail. Makes checks payable to the inmate and include: inmate first name, middle initial, last name, inmate number, date of birth, sender's full name and address. Send checks to: Inmate Trust Fund, P.O. Information regarding offenders currently incarcerated with the Department of Correction (DOC) is made available as a public service and in the interest of public safety. You are cautioned that the information on this site may not reflect the current status regarding an offender. Release dates are subject to change and not all statues are processed in the computer system.
