  • 9/28/2012 Gov. Malloy Appoints Neil Budnick Chair of Investment Advisory Council

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has appointed Neil G. Budnick of New Canaan to serve as chair of the Investment Advisory Council (IAC), the state body responsible for working with the State Treasurer in overseeing the investments of the Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds.

  • 9/13/2012 Gov. Malloy Appoints Three to CT Housing Finance Authority Board

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy has appointed three state residents to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). Kathleen Corbet of New Canaan, Nuala Droney of West Hartford and Richard Orr of West Hartford joined the board at the end of August.

  • 9/26/2012 Gov. Malloy, Attorney General Jepsen: Agreement Will Preserve Hundreds of Acres as Open Space in Sprague

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George C. Jepsen today announced that the state will enter an agreement to preserve 230 acres of open space in the towns of Sprague and Franklin. The acreage is part of the Watson Estate, a large expanse of agricultural fields, streams and wooded areas that abuts the Shetucket River.

  • 9/19/2012 Gov. Malloy Announces $12 Million from U.S. Labor Department for ConnSCU Consortium Grant Proposal in Health-Life Sciences

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $12 million for a consortium grant proposal submitted by five community colleges (Capital, Norwalk, Manchester, Gateway and Middlesex), Eastern Connecticut State University, and Charter Oak State College, to focus on providing targeted certifications, industry-recognized credentials, and associate degrees to dislocated workers, veterans and other under-employed workers for careers in the growing health and life science fields.

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today unveiled Connecticut's fall "Still Revolutionary" campaign, the second phase of the state's two-year, nearly $27 million dollar marketing effort designed to foster economic growth in Connecticut. While the spring/summer campaign focused on highlighting state tourism destinations that embody the spirit of the new brand, the fall initiative will support both tourism and economic development efforts through two distinct creative executions.

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today encouraged Connecticut residents to visit one or more of the 65 Connecticut eateries and farmers’ markets that are participating in the 2012 Farm-to-Chef Week. An initiative of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture, Farm-to-Chef Week attracts a variety of restaurants, hotels, school cafeterias, university dining halls, and health care facilities that create a special farm-themed menu featuring one or more Connecticut Grown ingredients.
