Gov. Malloy: Correction Commissioner Arnone to Retire Following 39 Years of State Service
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has received notification from Department of Correction (DOC) Commissioner Leo C. Arnone of his intention to retire from his position effective April 1, 2013, following 39 years of service with the State of Connecticut.

Gov. Malloy: CT TRANSIT Bus Service to Begin Shutting Down at 4PM
Governor Dannel P. Malloy this afternoon announced that CT TRANSIT bus service will begin shutting down service at 4PM today, and all buses will stop running by 6PM. This shut down will be in effect for the entire state until further notice.

Gov. Malloy Nominates Evonne Klein as Commissioner of State’s Newly Consolidated Department of Housing
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is nominating Evonne M. Klein of Darien to serve as commissioner of the state's Department of Housing, a new state agency that will provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to Connecticut's housing policies and programs by consolidating the existing housing functions of several state agencies into once centralized office.

Gov. Malloy: Metro-North to Suspend Service at 10PM Tonight
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that due to current storm conditions and projections of heavy snowfall accumulations, Metro-North Railroad will suspend service tonight beginning at 10:00 p.m.

Gov. Malloy: Nonessential State Employees Should Not Report to Work on Monday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is asking all nonessential state employees to stay home on Monday as the clean up effort continues. However, evening and midnight shift employees should report to work as normal on Monday.

Gov. Malloy: President Obama Approves Emergency Declaration
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that his request for a presidential emergency declaration in the wake of Friday’s historic winter storm has been approved. In addition, he is urging residents to continue staying off the roads today unless absolutely necessary.

Gov. Malloy Rescinds Remaining Emergency Order from Blizzard
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order No. 32, which rescinds the remaining sections of Executive Order No. 30 that modified certain regulatory requirements related to vehicles used by emergency medical service providers in the transport of patients during the state of emergency the Governor declared in response to the February 8, 2013 blizzard.

Gov. Malloy: Sandy Hook Advisory Commission to Receive Presentations Friday on Gun Violence Prevention
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to meet on Friday, March 1, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will hold the first of their meetings on the topic of gun violence prevention.

Gov. Malloy to Declare State of Emergency, Roads Subject to Closure Beginning at Noon
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will declare a state of emergency in preparation for the coming blizzard which is anticipated to heavily impact the state Friday and Saturday. In addition, the Governor announced that limited access highways may be subject to closure as early as noon. The Governor is asking all residents to limit nonessential travel.

Gov. Malloy Issues Proclamation for 37th Annual Black History Month
In celebration of the many cultural, economic, and social contributions that African Americans have made to our state and our country, Governor Dannel P. Malloy issued a proclamation recognizing February 2013 as the 37th annual Black History Month in the State of Connecticut.
