  On Saturday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will participate in the Wethersfield Memorial Day parade. 

• 5/19/2015 Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Attends Coast Guard Academy Commencement; Participates in Foxwoods Outlet Opening

  On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the United States Coast Guard Academy commencement ceremony in New London.  President Barack Obama is scheduled to be the keynote speaker.

• 5/12/2015 Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Holds News Conference in New Haven on Second Chance Initiative; Speaks at Hispanic Veterans Event

  On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in New Haven, where he will discuss his "Second Chance Society" initiative and the effects of mandatory minimum sentences on urban areas.  He will be joined by Mayor Toni Harp and other state and local officials.

• 5/3/2015 Monday: Gov. Malloy Promotes New England Regional Highway Safety Initiative; Meets with Business Executives to Discuss Importance of Upgrading State's Transportation System

  On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join highway safety officials and State Police from all six New England states for a news conference in Windsor to launch the region's first-ever coordinated enforcement mobilization aimed at reducing speed-related crashes, injuries and fatalities, which will be launched immediately following the announcement.  Vehicles used in the enforcement mobilization will be on display. 

• 5/29/2015 Gov. Malloy to Sign Legislation Creating Long Island Sound "Blue Plan"

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that he plans to sign legislation he introduced earlier this year establishing a Long Island Sound Blue Plan, which was unanimously approved by the State Senate last night in concurrence with the House of Representatives, which passed the bill in April. 

• 5/7/2015 Friday: Gov. Malloy Visits Classrooms in Bristol and Southington; Kicks Off the Governor's Summer Reading Challenge

  On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the kick-off event to launch the 2015 Governor's Summer Reading Challenge and honor the winners of the 2014 challenge.  The Governor's Summer Reading Challenge is an annual program co-sponsored by the State Department of Education and the State Library to encourage reading among school students across Connecticut.  The Governor will be joined by Education Commissioner Dianna Wentzell and State Librarian Kendall Wiggin. 

• 5/8/2015 Gov. Malloy Announces $1.6 Million for Pre-K Classrooms in Twelve School Districts

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission is anticipated to approve nearly $1.6 million in grants at its meeting on Monday that will be used to improve and upgrade early childhood education classrooms across the state.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that his administration is continuing to help the state's nursing home industry adapt to the changing needs of older adults and citizens with disabilities through a second round of business diversification funding. 

• 5/21/2015 Friday: Gov. Malloy Participates in Hammonasset Beach Groundbreaking; Tours Attractions on the Shoreline

  On Friday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of major improvements at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, including a new Meigs Point Nature Center and improvements to West Beach, which was damaged by recent severe storms.  He will be joined by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Rob Klee, Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Melody Currey, First Selectman Fillmore McPherson, park advocates, and other state and local officials.

• 5/6/2015 Gov. Malloy Announces CTFastrak Surpasses 150,000 Rides After Only Five Weeks of Service

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that more than 150,000 rides have been taken on the CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit system in the five weeks since operations began on March 28.  Ridership has grown to more than 7,000 riders per day on the bus-only roadway. This is in addition to the 7,000 daily riders that use existing CTtransit bus routes in the corridor.

• 5/19/2015 Gov. Malloy Announces New Incentive in Connecticut Providing Rebates of Up to $3,000 to Buy or Lease an Electric Vehicle

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut is making it "cheaper" to purchase or lease an electric vehicle as a result of the Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate Program (CHEAPR).

• 5/27/2015 Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Receives MacArthur Foundation Award to Reduce the Use of Jails

  The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation today announced that the State of Connecticut is one of 20 jurisdictions selected to receive a $150,000 grant to create a fairer, more effective local justice system.  The grant is a part of the Safety and Justice Challenge, the Foundation's $75 million initiative to reduce over-incarceration by changing the way America thinks about and uses jails.

• 5/14/2015 Gov. Malloy Directs Flags to Half-Staff Friday in Recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, May 15, 2015, in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

• 5/31/2015 Gov. Malloy: Historic Agreement Leads to Billions in Transportation Investment, the Largest in Connecticut History

  Working with House and Senate leaders, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the budget agreement reached with the House and Senate last night will fund the historic transportation agenda put forth by Governor Malloy earlier this year.  This agreement will lead to the largest investment in transportation in Connecticut history.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that an election to fill a vacancy for Judge of Probate for the Hartford Probate District will be held during the next general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
