Gov. Malloy Announces CTFastrak Surpasses 150,000 Rides After Only Five Weeks of Service
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that more than 150,000 rides have been taken on the CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit system in the five weeks since operations began on March 28. Ridership has grown to more than 7,000 riders per day on the bus-only roadway. This is in addition to the 7,000 daily riders that use existing CTtransit bus routes in the corridor.

Gov. Malloy Announces New Incentive in Connecticut Providing Rebates of Up to $3,000 to Buy or Lease an Electric Vehicle
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut is making it "cheaper" to purchase or lease an electric vehicle as a result of the Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate Program (CHEAPR).

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Receives MacArthur Foundation Award to Reduce the Use of Jails
The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation today announced that the State of Connecticut is one of 20 jurisdictions selected to receive a $150,000 grant to create a fairer, more effective local justice system. The grant is a part of the Safety and Justice Challenge, the Foundation's $75 million initiative to reduce over-incarceration by changing the way America thinks about and uses jails.

Gov. Malloy: Energy Efficiency Measures to Save the State Millions Annually
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that new energy efficiency measures now planned for Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH) in Middletown and several Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) offices throughout the state will reduce energy costs at those locations by more than $3.3 million per year. The measures are being implemented under the state's "Lead by Example" initiative, which was designed to reduce energy use in state and local government buildings.

Gov. Malloy: Historic Agreement Leads to Billions in Transportation Investment, the Largest in Connecticut History
Working with House and Senate leaders, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the budget agreement reached with the House and Senate last night will fund the historic transportation agenda put forth by Governor Malloy earlier this year. With the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season beginning June 1, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today is reminding Connecticut residents to be prepared for any severe weather that may impact the state. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with the principal threat period for Connecticut occurring between mid-August and mid-October.

Malloy, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) are urging residents to seek information regarding the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's recall - affecting nearly 34 million vehicles made by at least 11 companies - because of Takata-made airbags.
